Family Activities for Fall Camping

The Fall camping season is a delightful time to spend time in the outdoors. Family activities strengthen bonds with the ones you love and create new memories of a lifetime. Choose one or more of these family activities during your next Fall camping trip to your favorite lake.

Family Hiking

Take time to see the new colors of Autumn during your next camping trip. Plan time to hike the woods or trails nearby. Hiking in the new Fall season prevents your body from overheating - by taking excursions in the cooler temperatures. Take a family backpack with you, including water, snacks, and needed supplies for the hike.

Fall Leaf Hunt

Children love playing in the freshly fallen leaves. Planning a Fall leaf hunt is a way to teach young ones about different types of trees. Show them the different colors of the leaves and teach them how/why they change. Allow them to collect and count leaves during the hunt.

Fall Fishing

Fishing during the cooler Autumn temperatures is an exciting way to spend time with the family. Teach the children your favorite Fall fishing tips while fishing in the afternoons or early evenings.

Pumpkin Carving & Crafts

Pumpkin carving and crafts are a favorite with the children during the Fall season. Bring along pumpkins for each child and carving tools to create memorable family time. Save the seeds and roast them over the campfire. Or, allow them to dry to use in your favorite pumpkin seed craft.

Fall Canoe Trip

Adults and older children will enjoy taking a Fall Canoe Trip. They will delight in seeing the changes of the season from their favorite seat in the canoe. Pack your gear for the trip and enjoy seeing the warm colors of Fall.

Fall Family Festivities

During the Fall season, there are plenty of Fall Family Festivities going on in local areas. Festivities can include hayrides, horseback riding, visiting pumpkin patches, and carnival type children's festivals. Often, small-town festival gatherings offer live music, down-home food, and vendors preparing for the holiday shopping season.
