Evening Tournaments Set to Resume with COVID-19 Guidelines

Safety will be a top priority to make sure we can have a fun and safe environment for everyone. Please do not group up and maintain the recommended 6 feet Covid-19 social distancing guidelines. Although it is not mandatory as a safety precaution you can wear a mask, buff, or other face covering. Please note that all surfaces will be disinfected before and after each tournament.

REGISTRATION: Only one team member at a time will be allowed at the trailer registration table! One team member must bring completed entry form and cash up to registration table. Please bring exact change. All forms and cash will be disinfected. A table with clean entry forms and clean pens will be available in front of the Prestige Ford Rad Rides tow vehicle. One person at a time at table. Take form back to your vehicle to fill it out as others may need to get a form. Victory Tournaments would prefer that you pre-print entry form on-line, have it filled out completely, and present it at the registration table.

WHEN REGISTRATION IS COMPLETE: Launch your boat and leave marina/ramp area. Do not group up or get near anyone! You cannot start fishing until 6PM!

WEIGH-IN PROCEEDURE: Each team will be given a numbered poker chip (they will be easier to disinfect than the paper cards previously used). While maintaining social distancing one team member will turn in the numbered chip by 9:30pm. Pull your boat out and then get your fish ready for weigh-in. Five chalk marks will be placed at least 6' apart on the ground leading up to the weigh-in stage. Please coordinate with fellow fishermen so that no more than 5 people are in the weigh-in line at any time. The time allowed to enter the line has been extended to 10PM. When it is your turn to weigh-in tell the tournament director your team number and place your weigh-in bag in the sink next to the scale. To weigh-in a Big Bass take that specific bass out of the bag and place it in the sink next to your bag, then step back 6' from the sink. The director will weigh, measure, and record your weight. Once complete the director will move in front of the stage to photo participant with catch. Place catch in bag and exit stage. Release catch back into lake and return back to your vehicle. Please do not group up and maintain the recommended 6 feet social distancing guidelines.

Tournament results will be posted that night on Facebook and afterwards to the Victory Fishing Events website.

Fishing Report from TPWD (Dec. 18)

GOOD. Water slightly stained; 57 degrees; 2.74 feet below pool. White bass are gathering up in big schools on southern parts of the lake. Look for big bait balls in 30-38 feet of water with 3/4 ounce slabs with 2 jigs tied above working best spread at least 16 inches apart. When fish come thru they are mostly suspended in the 20-30 feet range and reel up to the fish. Crappie are fair and relating to brush 18-28 feet deep moving on and off structure and starting to roam the deep flats. Minnows working best. Catfish are excellent around the north end of the lake around timber using cut shad working best in 10-20 ft water on prepared punch bait and cut bait. Larger blue catfish are showing up on the deep flats. Drifting cut bait as shad, buffalo or carp works best. Report by John Varner, John Varner's Guide Service.
